ART IN CRAFT MEDIA 2011 FEATURING KAREN DONNELLAN, BUFFALO, NY

Birchfield Penney Arts Centre, Buffalo, New York will host a contemporary exhibition of more than sixty fine artists of the region working with glass, wood, fiber, clay and metal. The exhibition features work by Karen Donnellan and was juried this year by John McCoy, potter and faculty member at Florida Atlanic University. The exhibition will open at 7:30pm on Saturday 15th October 2011.

WHEATON ARTS 2012 FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Wheaton Arts and the Creative Glass Centre of America are currently accepting applications for their 2012 Fellowship Program. These are offered each year to international artists working in glass. Fellowships are awarded for three month and also six week durations.

Session Dates:
3 Month: 16th April – 13th July 2012
6 Weeks: 27th August - 5th October 2012
6 Weeks: 15th October – 23rd November 2012

THE GOLDEN FLEECE AWARD – CALL FOR 2012 SUBMISSIONS

The Golden Fleece Award is an artistic fund established as a charitable bequest by the late Helen Lillias Mitchell. The Award aims to support and promote a wide range of artistic creativity, recognising excellence in painting, textiles and sculpture, glasswork, and all the traditional crafts. It was launched in 2001 and is now widely recognised as a distinctive stamp of creative support in the realm of Irish art.

The deadline for submissions is 18th November 2011 and entry forms are available online.

THE FULBRIGHT AWARDS 2012 -2013 NOW OPEN TO APPLICANTS

The Fulbright Awards 2012-2013, offering monetary grants for studying, lecturing and researching in the USA are now open to applicants. The awards are open to postgraduate, post-doctoral and professional candidates across all disciplines. Fulbright will also be visiting institutions around Ireland during October and November to provide information about the Fulbright Awards and general postgraduate study in the USA.

The deadline for applications is 12pm (midday) Friday 18th November 2011.

GLASS RESIDENCY OPPORTUNITY AT CIRVA, FRANCE

Contemporary Art Centre established in Marseilles, France (CIRVA) is a centre for research, development and production, endowed with successful equipment for the work of glass, allowing the creation of unique works or prototypes. Created in 1983, it welcomes artists, designers and architects, willing to work with glass for innovative projects.

By launching this residency call, the CIRVA wishes to enlarge its mission of production centre dedicated to the international contemporary creation. It thus contributes to support the artists in all the phases of their work, from research to exhibition.

The deadline for entries is 16th December 2011.
