ASSISTANT POSITION AT LONDON GLASSWORKS
Stewart Hearn is a highly respected glassmaker and designer. He has established a professional practice of nearly thirty years, working with some of Britain’s best master glassmakers. In 2002, he co-founded and is now sole owner of London Glassworks. Unfortunately our current assistant could not move with us to Cambridgeshire and is leaving the valuable position of Glassmaker’s Assistant available.

The role is for a full
time Glassmakers Assistant who can professionally and efficiently assist
Stewart in creating bespoke pieces of hand blown glass in both the hot
and cold workshops. You will be expected to be keen and willing to
learn, enthusiastic about the entire process of hand blown glass with a
strong attention to detail and an interest in your own professional
development. This is an interesting yet very demanding job, which
provides an excellent opportunity to develop your own technical skills.
You will be working in a brand new glassblowing studio which has been
built for purpose to house this successful and vibrant glassblowing
business. Applicants must have some educational or industrial glass
experience and it is hoped that the successful candidate will stay on
for a number of years.
