PART-TIME HIGH SCHOOL GLASS TEACHER REQUIRED, ILLINOIS

New Trier Township High School is seeking a part time glass art teacher, starting August 2012. New Trier, located 16 miles north of Chicago, IL, is an exemplary high school district of 4,200 students. The Art Department has 12 faculty members. The school emphasizes academic rigor, encourages individual achievement and supports student access to a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular programs. The district encourages and supports professional growth and staff collaboration.

Qualifications:
- BA/BFA with a strong background in glass and 3D art.
- The applicant must show experience in glass casting, fusing/kiln forming, cold working, torching, and teaching in a glass and/or sculpture studio. Hot shop experience is desirable for future curricular expansion.
- Responsibilities include teaching introductory survey glass courses and organizing and maintaining equipment and supplies in a glass studio.
- Ability to teach 3D sculpture course.
- A valid Illinois State Board of Education secondary teaching certificate
with appropriate endorsements, or ability to obtain same prior to employment.
