'ENGAGING WITH GLASS' EXHIBITION: CALL

Engaging with Glass is a juried glass exhibition coordinated by the Glass Society of Ireland and Solstice Art Centre, Navan. The exhibition will run from 7 June to 16 July in Solstice, and the deadline for submissions is 10 May.

Solstice Art Centre invites Irish artists, makers, designers, and architects working in glass in Ireland and abroad to submit images of new works for exhibition, Engaging with Glass, June 7-July 16, 2011. Selectors Audrey Whitty, Curator of Ceramics, Glass and Asian collections at the National Museum of Ireland and Tina Oldnow, Curator of modern glass at The Corning Museum of Glass, New York, USA will select work for the exhibition and catalogue from the images submitted. The deadline for submissions is May 10th.

Submissions should include an Application Fee €15 (made out to The Glass Society of Ireland), Artist’s Statement (maximum 300 words), Artists Biography (maximum 100 words) and resumé and three images of work made between 2005-2011.

Digital images should be made using the highest-resolution setting on the camera and need to have an effective resolution of 300 DPI or higher at a minimum of 4 x 6 inches (10.2 x 15.2 cm). Do not compress files. Each image will require the Name of artist, Title of the piece, Year of creation, Dimensions, Height x Width x Depth in centimetres, Materials and techniques used. The image file should be named as follows: artist’s last_name_first name_ title.jpg or artist’s last_name_first name_title.tif. Do not use quotation marks, apostrophes, parentheses, or any characters that are not numbers or letters. Images must meet these specifications to be considered for entry in exhibition catalogue.
