ART THERAPY WORKSHOPS AND CREATIVE THERAPY COURSE

This is an ongoing series of workshops, with a mission to introduce art therapy to a wider public. Workshops are held in fortnightly intervals in Blanchardstown. Upcoming weekend dates: 8 & 9 May, 22 & 23 May, 19 & 20 June, 10 & 11 July. 11.30am to 5pm each day. 80 euro for two days. Eight places in each workshop.
The principle is active participation in a process of self-discovery, and the experience and celebration of a creative moment in each individual. We will use fine art materials, mainly water colour or clay to communicate our feelings and ideas, in line with given themes. It is hoped a first hand insight can be gained on the manifold applications of art therapy and its healing potential. No special ability or artistic training required for this workshop.
Also running is a creative therapy foundation course. This course is eight weekends long, 15 May to 24 October and costs 800 euro. This is a course for professionals or those interested in the field of human relations, wanting to develop their skills through a basic understanding of creative therapies. This course includes art history (as seen through the eyes of therapy), colour theory, art therapy techniques and approaches, in depth observation of image and form, basic concepts and techniques of gestalt therapy and psychodrama.
